ISN students participated in Model United Nations Conference

Under the leadership of Ms. Daniels and with help from Ms. Shelley, students from International school of Ningbo went to Xiamen to participate in the 6th Xiamen Model United Nations Conference. The event was held in Xiamen International School. 14 teams from 14 international schools in China got together and attended the two-day conference regarding contemporary social issues.

The Model United Nations club is hosted by ISN as an After School Activity program. ISN students took this opportunity in Xiamen, applying what they had learnt in the MUN club into the actual competition. Our students used international perspective to discuss real world problems, not only demonstrating their great English and comprehension, but also making friends from all over the world.

Visit ISN’s Magic World

If you visited ISN last Friday, you would have stepped into a magic world, with Spider Man, Harry Potter, witches, pirates, zombies and so much more. However if you looked a bit closer, you would have seen that all these characters were actually students and teachers, dressed up to celebrate the Halloween!

This year’s theme for Halloween was “HallowREAD”. Students were encouraged to dress as their favorite character from a book. The celebration started in the afternoon, and the ISN community got together in the meeting hall. After a cute dance presentation by the early year students, all the students and teachers participated in the“thriller dance and fully experienced the atmosphere of Halloween.

ISN: You and me, same world.

The International School of Ningbo held its annual United Nations Day celebration on Friday, October 23th. Dressing in traditional clothing from their home countries, students, their parents and teachers took part in the morning parade around the school. After the parade, students visited each classroom and participated in fun activities with cultural characteristics and shared international food in the afternoon. The United Nations Day means a lot to everybody and ISN celebrated this day in a very special way.

ISN’s Open House Evening was held on Friday, Sept 11, 2015 from 6:00-8:00pm. Many parents were present.

The activity started at 6pm in auditorium. The head of school, Mr.Cavon Ahangarzadeh warmly welcomed parents and introduced ISN. Then parents were invited to the classrooms talking with teachers and experiencing ISN environment.

At ISN we believe that education is a partnership between ISN and our families. One of the main objectives of our Open House Evening is to establish a channel of communication between parents and teachers, thereby setting the stage for a successful year of learning and growth for our students.

Min An Primary School received our books and stationery!

Do you remember “Week Without Walls” trip that took place in May of this year? During this trip, ISN students went to a remote, local primary school, Min An Primary School, located deep within a farming community. ISN students noticed that the school had a small library room with no books! After returning to ISN, our librarian Ms. Daniels organized a book donation activity, and our students and their parents actively participated to collect multiple boxes of books.

With the help of Insight Adventures, 17 boxes of books and stationary from ISN reached the destination – Min An Primary School!

We hope that the children in Yangshuo can gain knowledge and happiness from increase resources. ISN is really appreciated for the support from ISN students and parents as well as the staff from Insight Adventure.
